There is a serious health care
shortage in rural Texas, leaving some communities without the higher
level of medical care available in metropolitan areas.
The Texas Medical Board
has taken a proactive stance on rural health care concerns.
The Board provides information
regarding rural health programs sponsored by private and state
organizations.
A goal of the Texas Medical Board
is to make health care accessible to all rural
Texans. We hope to achieve this by promoting rural practice
opportunities among health care providers.
