Professional
Name Presentation
All
licensed physicians in the state of Texas are required to professionally
use the name under which they are licensed with the Texas Medical
Board. Using any other name may confuse or
mislead the public and may be considered by the Board to be unprofessional
conduct as defined by the Texas Occupations Code Chapter 164.052(a)(5).
Any physician who wishes to change the professional name under
which he/she practices must first satisfy certain formalities
and documentation. Any physician
who is found to be using a name, other than the one that the physician
is licensed under, may be subject to disciplinary action for violation
of the above referenced statute.
