On August 4, 2023, a disciplinary panel of the Texas Board of Medical Radiologic Technology temporarily suspended, without notice, the Texas medical radiologic technologist certificate of Derek Gomez, MRT (Lic. No. GMR00026781), after determining his continuation in the practice of medical radiologic technology poses a continuing threat to public welfare. The suspension was effective immediately.
The Board panel found that Mr. Gomez suffers from an impairment due to substance use and has failed to cooperate with his Texas Physician Health Program agreement.
A temporary suspension hearing with notice will be held as soon as practicable with 10 days' notice to Mr. Gomez, unless the hearing is specifically waived by Mr. Gomez.
The temporary suspension remains in place until the Board takes further action.
