On September 25, 2024, a disciplinary panel of the Texas Medical Board temporarily suspended, without notice, the Texas medical license of Astik Joshi, M.D. (Lic. No. S3687), after determining his continuation in the practice of medicine poses a continuing threat to public welfare. The suspension was effective immediately.
The Board panel found that in May 2024, Dr. Joshi signed an Interim Drug Testing Agreement agreeing to abstain from the use of alcohol and prescription drugs and enroll in the Board testing program. Dr. Joshi has failed to sign up for testing and is no longer responding to Board staff.
A temporary suspension hearing with notice will be held as soon as practicable with 10 days' notice to Dr. Joshi, unless the hearing is specifically waived by Dr. Joshi.
The temporary suspension remains in place until the Board takes further action.
