On May 16, 2024, a disciplinary panel of the Texas Medical Board temporarily suspended, without notice, the Texas medical license of Willard James Davis, II, D.O. (Lic. No. M4024) after determining his continuation in the practice of medicine poses a continuing threat to public welfare. The suspension was effective immediately.
The Board panel found that based on the evidence, Dr. Davis was impaired while at work at St. David’s Georgetown Hospital, and while working in the emergency department at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, Texas, Dr. Davis engaged in inappropriate behavior with a patient, and left the emergency department unattended for extended periods of time.
A temporary suspension hearing with notice will be held as soon as practicable with 10 days' notice to Dr. Davis, unless the hearing is specifically waived by Dr. Davis.
The temporary suspension remains in place until the Board takes further action.
