TMB Suspends Denton Physician (Adugba)

On February 16, 2024, a disciplinary panel of the Texas Medical Board temporarily suspended, without notice, the Texas medical license of Ikenna Adugba, M.D. (Lic. No. K6978). The suspension was effective immediately.  

 

The Board panel found that on February 13, 2024, Dr. Adugba was arrested by the Denton Police Department and charged with four counts of Indecent Assault under Texas Penal Code §22.012 in Denton, Grayson County, Texas. The alleged victims were Dr. Adugba’s patients.  

 

TMB Suspends Houston Physician (Sokhon)

On February 5, 2024, a disciplinary panel of the Texas Medical Board temporarily suspended, without notice, the Texas medical license of Kozhaya Chehade Sokhon, M.D. (Lic. No. M9668), after determining his continuation in the practice of medicine poses a continuing threat to public welfare. The suspension was effective immediately.

 

The Board panel found that on or around February 2, 2024, Dr. Sokhon was arrested and charged with Indecent Assault by Health Care Provider, a state jail felony, by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

 

TMB Suspends Tyler Physician (Park)

On December 21, 2022, a disciplinary panel of the Texas Medical Board temporarily suspended, with notice, the Texas medical license of Dana Michael Park, M.D., (Lic. No. E2776) after determining his continuation in the practice of medicine poses a continuing threat to public welfare. The suspension was effective immediately.

 

The Board panel found that Dr. Park is currently unable to safely practice medicine because of an illness, excessive use of drugs or other substances, or as a result of an impaired mental or physical condition. 

 

TMB Disciplines 24 Physicians at June Meeting

At its June 13, 2025, meeting, the Texas Medical Board disciplined 24 licensed physicians.

 

The disciplinary actions included: one order related to violation of Board rules, one related to impairment, one order related to nontherapeutic prescribing, seven orders related to peer review or other states’ actions, two orders related to standard of care, two orders related to unprofessional conduct, one voluntary surrender, two Consent Orders, five Mediated Settlement Agreed Orders, and two Final Orders. The Board also ratified two cease-and-desist orders. 

TMB Suspends El Paso Physician (Lagunas)

On July 2, 2025, a disciplinary panel of the Texas Medical Board temporarily suspended, without notice, the Texas medical license of Yolanda Lagunas, M.D. (Lic. No. H0541), after determining her continuation in the practice of medicine poses a continuing threat to public welfare. The suspension was effective immediately.

 

The Board panel found that Dr. Lagunas failed to complete the terms of her agreed order and failed to practice medicine in an acceptable and professional manner. 

 

TMB Suspends Houston Physician (Thonhoff)

On June 20, 2025, a disciplinary panel of the Texas Medical Board temporarily suspended, without notice, the Texas medical license of Jason Robert Thonhoff, M.D. (Lic. No. Q5729), after determining his continuation in the practice of medicine poses a continuing threat to public welfare. The suspension was effective immediately. 

 

The Board panel found that on May 1, 2025, the Harris County Constable's Office executed an arrest warrant for Dr. Thonhoff for Online Solicitation of a Minor, a third-degree felony under Texas Penal Code section 33.021. 

TMB Suspends Lubbock Physician (Cobb)

On June 20, 2025, a disciplinary panel of the Texas Medical Board temporarily suspended, without notice, the Texas medical license of John Michael Cobb, M.D. (Lic. No. L6013), after determining his continuation in the practice of medicine poses a continuing threat to public welfare. The suspension was effective immediately. 

 

The Board panel found that Dr. Cobb suffers from an unmanaged health condition that impairs his ability to safely practice medicine and is currently engaged in the practice of medicine without any oversight or monitoring.
